Music from the Quartet Party
Playing string quartets with friends was
an extremely popular pastime for musicians of the eighteenth
century, as indeed it is now. In one of the most illustrious
quartet parties ever, Mozart was joined by his friends, Haydn,
Vanhal and Dittersdorf, each eminent composers in their own
right. To play Mozart's horn concerto, the Corellis are joined
by Anneke Scott, one of the foremost exponents of the
hand-horn.
