William Hayes in the can
February 2010
Four fun days spent in Cheltenham rehearsing and
recording music by William Hayes, ex-Gloucester chorister and Professor
of Music at Oxford. All of the music is recorded here for the first
time, and includes two cantatas (with Evelyn Tubb), two concerti
grossi, the harpsichord concerto and a very fine trio sonata. Grateful
thanks to our excellent engineer Paul Arden-Taylor of Dinmore Records,
and to the owners of a very fine C18th-century harpsichord which was
kindly loaned for the occasion.
